Pearl Threading With Contemporary Applications

This course is a must for anyone interested in how to bring a necklace together using both traditional as well as contemporary techniques of pearl threading. Ideal for the novice as well as the more established practitioner.
What techniques will be covered?
Participants will be taught the stringing basics using a variety of mediums including, flex wire, leather/microfibre and elastic. You will learn how to use the appropriate findings with these materials to give the piece a professional finish to their work. There will be an introduction to the use of wire also.
You will discover the tricks of the trade to make a professional piece of jewellery.
Knotting. You will be taught how to knot with silk thread using Czech fire polished glass beads (just right for learning with). You will learn to knot in a free hand manner with the use of a knotting awl should it be required.
What materials will be provided?
An introduction kit will be provided for the morning and afternoon activities.
A selection of beads and findings will be available for purchase on the day.
What should students bring?
Nothing but beads!
