Caz is a Melbourne based contemporary jeweller and educator. Caz has been teaching for 12 years in the craft and design field, ten of those at the Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT) in both the Jewellery Department and in the Visual Arts Department. Her formal teaching qualifications include the Diploma of VET Practice (Vocational Education and Training) and the Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training.
In 1995 Caz Guiney completed a Bachelor of Art in Jewellery and Metalsmithing at Monash University, Australia. Since 1997 she has exhibited throughout Australia as well as New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Germany, Chile and the U.S.A.
Caz’s jewellery practice engages with public space, attempting to establish a dialogue between the landscape, the object and the body. Her work draws on the urban fabric as a source of material and inspiration for jewellery and objects.
